Spinach & Bacon Salad With Garlic & Mint Yoghurt

Tuesday, 30 June 2015

As the weather gets warmer, I'm all about the salads. It's a simple meal but there are so many different ingredients to choose from that it will never get old. Also, who doesn't love a meal that colourful? I recently made a Spinach & Bacon salad with a generous helping of a garlic & mint sauce. It was delicious!

You can add absolutely anything to this salad but I'm just going to list the things I used, just in case you need some inspiration.

Ingredients:
A handful of spinach leaves
Half a red onion
Half a red pepper
10 slices of cucumber - halfed
2 slices of ham - cut into thin strips
3 slices of bacon - grilled until crispy & sliced roughly
Season with salt & pepper
Drizzle a generous amount of garlic & mint yoghurt

Barry M Vintage Violet

Monday, 22 June 2015

It looks a lot darker in the photos but it is much more muted in real life.

Barry M is one of my favourite brands. I have only just started to really get into the makeup side of things but their nail polishes initially got me hooked. They have so many beautiful shades with an equally impressive range of finishes. I love the matte & gelly ranges but you can't beat a good classic.

Vintage Violet is a gorgeous muted purple with a grey undertone. It gives an even & opaque finish in just one coat but I always like to add a second coat because apparently it brings out the true colour of the nail polish. The drying time is pretty impressive - it only took a few minutes for my nails to be completely dry which is great as I can get a little impatient & always end up smudging them. My nails stay chip free for around 5 days when I use a top coat but if I don't use one, then I can usually get around 2-3 days of wear.

Barry M classic nail polishes retail for just £2.99 a bottle which is amazing considering the quality even out shines some of the more higher end polishes I own.

Are you a fan of Barry M? What is your current favourite nail polish?

No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Revitalising Eye Balm

Wednesday, 17 June 2015

I'm pretty sure you all know this but I suffer with some pretty crazy dark circles. I'm always looking for a concealer that will reduce the appearance of them but what if there was a skincare product that did that while you slept? I not so recently purchased the No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Revitalising Eye Balm to see if it was up to the task of tacking my dark circles & occasional puffiness.

I like to apply my skincare just before I get into bed as I want to give my skin time to breath after I have cleansed. The balm is perfect for that as it is meant to work while you sleep but what makes it even better is that it sinks in almost instantly. So, I can jump into bed & get some much needed sleep without worrying that my skincare is going to get rubbed onto my pillow & do nothing for my skin.

I like to focus the balm on the inner corners of my eyes as that is where it's darkest & then apply the excess to the rest of my under eye area. When applied it has a subtle cooling sensation which makes it feel so relaxing. I find that you only need to use a small amount of product as a little bit really does go a long way.

When I wake up in the morning, my under eye area feels refreshed & hydrated. I've been using the balm every night for over a month & I've noticed an impressive improvement in the appearance of my dark circles. I still occasionally wake up with puffy eyes but that is usually when I have been super stressed or crying the night before. I'm not expecting my dark circles to completely disappear but I'm really happy with the results I've had so far. I've also noticed that I'm reaching for concealers that offer a lighter coverage & I'm not applying as much which is great as it's currently very warm here at the moment & a lot of makeup is a big mistake.

The No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Revitalising Eye Balm retails for £12 on the Boots website.

My Favourite Ebay Purchases

Thursday, 11 June 2015

The last few weeks months, I have become Ebay obsessed..well more than I already was. Ebay is usually my go to for American Yankee Candle Wax Tarts & cute bits & bobs but lately I have wanted to buy all of the things. It all started when I bid on a gorgeous New Look bag & I was in this live action bidding war with someone... I lost at the very last second but the competitive streak in me was awoken & I bid on a lot of things. I won some & I lost some but I always remained positive that I could not only find but win some amazing pieces & I did. So, today I'm going to share my most recent favourite Ebay purchases with you.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The River Island messenger bag has gold detailing, an adjustable strap & multiple pockets. I prefer to wear it on my shoulder but it can also be worn across the body. It has plenty of room to fit everything I need on a day to day basis & more without it becoming uncomfortable to wear.

The Primark ankle boots is made of a mix of suede & faux leather, it has a little bit of gold detailing, a zip to fasten & a small heel. They are very versatile, they look great with so many outfits, are well made & are extremely comfortable to wear.

The Essex Glam studded loafers are made from a soft suede material with an all over spike detailing. They are well made, comfortable to wear & are just a very unique find that makes my outfits a little bit more interesting [but they do seem to scare small children]
