What's In My Shower

Tuesday, 25 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
I have been obsessed with 'what's in my shower' posts/videos lately so I thought I'd give it a go. I tend to keep more than one of each product in my shower but I thought I'd just show you what my favourite products are.

Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo & Conditioner
Firstly these smell incredible! I mostly use 2in1 products because..well I'm lazy & if you have a lot of hair you will know how much of a pain it is when the condioner runs out but you have half a bottle of shampoo left -.- but I adore honey so I needed these in my life. They leave my hair feeling soft & looking healthy.

Pantene Strengthening Lotion
I have only recently started using this but I've already noticed such a difference in my hair, I mostly use it on the ends as that part seems to be the most damaged & it leaves them feeling soft & I've noticed less hair breakage.

Original Source Vanilla Milk & Raspberry Shower Gel
I adore this! It not only smells incredible but it lathers really well & leaves my skin feeling amazing!

L'Oreal Perfect Clean Foaming Cream Wash
I have also only recently started using this, it has a very thick gel like consistency which lathers really nicely & it also had a rubber thingy to gently exfoliate your face..well thats what I use it for as it does a really good job. I also use this to take of any eye make up that hasn't been removed by my cleansing water & it doesn't make them sore at all.

Arora Sweet Vanilla Body Scrub
This is a fantastic body scrub, it has a very thick consistancy & it is gentle enough to use everyday but buffs away any dead skin cells like a dream. My skin if left feeling soft for days & the scent is amazing!

Amy Spring Clean Cooling Clay Mask
I like to apply a face mask before I get into the shower, it is very relaxing. I really like the thick consistency of this, it has qute a strong peppermint scent which I adore & when removed my face feels very clean & refreshed. I have also noticed that my skin looks a lot more blemish free.

So those are my favourite products that are in my shower. Have you done a post/video like this?

Foundations For Pale Skin

Monday, 24 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
I have super pale skin & I occasionally find it difficult to find a foundation that perfectly matches my skintone but I was having a look through my collection & found some pretty amazing pale foundations. The Rimmel Wake Me Up & Lasting Finish Foundation are actually new purchases, I already owned them in Ivory but noticed that superdrug had paler shades available so I hate to snap them up.

L-R | Rimmel Stay Matte - Light Porcelain, Mua Undress Your Skin - Porcelain, Rimmel Wake Me Up - Light Porcelain, Rimmel Lasting Finish & Revlon Nearly Naked - Ivory.

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation is the palest foundation I own, it has a mousse like formula that blends seamlessly into the skin. It leaves the skin feeling soft & has a matte finish.

Mua Undress Your Skin Foundation isn't as pale as the Rimmel Stay Matte but it still matches my skintone amazingly well. It feels very light on the skin & leaves it looking natural with an added glow.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation looks a litter darker in the swatch than it does when blended into the skin. It is a near perfect match to my skintone. It blends really well & as it contains a little shimmer, it makes the skin look more awake & radiant.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation is a thick foundation that gives a medium coverage, it is a fairly good colour match & feels light on the skin while covering my redness/blemishes like a dream.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation is a my skin but better product, it feels light on the skin, covers any redness/blemishes, leaves a natural dewy finish & is a perfect match for my skintone.

So those are my palest foundations (: What is your go to foundation for pale skin?

NOTD | Maybelline Mauve Kiss & L'Oreal Confetti Top Coat

Sunday, 23 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
Today I thought I'd share an NOTD with you. I have had a week or two without painting my nails because I just couldn't decided what shade to wear but today I was having a bit of a sort out & come across the beautiful Maybelline polish called Mauve Kiss, I decided to add the L'Oreal Confetti Top Coat to add a little something extra & then decided it would look better matte so I used the Rimmel Matte Top Coat. I really like the finished result, it's quite simple but I have had so many compliments since rocking this nail look.

What nail looks have you been rocking?

Battle Of The Highlighters

Saturday, 22 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
Today I thought I'd talk to you about two amazing highlighters. There is a massive price difference between them but they both do such a great job at highlighting the face. So if you would like to know more about the highlighters & see which one I adore more just keep on reading.

Ysl Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Highlighter
This is a pen style highlighter, you click the bottom a few times to dispense the product into the brush. The highlighter itself is a peachy pink, when blended it becomes clear & adds a beautiful glow to the skin. I apply this after my foundation, on to the corners of my eyes, cheekbones, bridge of the nose & brow bone - I then use my fingers or beauty sponge to blend it. The product blends easily & makes the skin look much more radiant & awake.

Mua Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter
This is a powder highlighter that has a beautiful intricate design engraved on the product. The Highlighter itself is a pale pink, you only need a small amount to give the skin a subtle radiant glow. I apply this after I have powdered, on my cheekbones, bridge of my nose & occasionally on my brow bone. It contains fine shimmer but when applied it brightens the skin, achieving a perfect natural-as-possible glow.

Overall, I adore both highlighters & occasionally find myself using both to highlight different places. I think the Ysl highlighter will be better for warmer weather as I try not to put to many powder products on my face but I definitely think the Mua highlighter is still my favourite. Even though they both give a natural glow, I think the Mua one stands out that little bit more.

Are you a fan of highlighters? What is your go to highlighting product?

Illamasqua Cream Foundation - 150

Friday, 21 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
When Illamasqua was having their sale, I made two separate orders - the first one being this Cream Foundation. I have actually already reviewed the other Illamasqua purchase I made but as I have never tried a cream foundation before, I've spent some time trying different ways to apply it to see what works best for me.

The Illamasqua Cream Foundation is quite sheer when first applied but it can be built up to be full coverage. The formula is very creamy & leaves the skin with a smooth, flawless finish. I got the shade 150, it is a little to dark for my skin tone but it isn't to noticeable. I like to apply this with a pointed foundation brush & the blend with a beauty sponge - It takes a little longer than using a buffing brush but I find it gives a better finish. I have also been using this as a concealer when using other foundations, it covers dark circles/blemishes really well & lasts around 6-7 hours before I see any redness peaking through.

All in all, I really like the Illamasqua Cream Foundation. It gives a flawless finish, doesn't feel drying & can be built to the coverage you want.

Are you a fan of Illamasqua? Did you pick up anything in the sale?

My Make Up Storage & Collection

Tuesday, 18 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
Today I thought I'd show you how I store my make up & what products I have in my collection. I do have a few bits in my make up bag which I may do a separate post on that as I have a beautiful new make up bag so if you're interested in that, leave me a comment below.

I use the Ikea Helmer to store all my make up, It has 6 roomy drawers & has castors on the bottom so it can be moved around easily. On top I keep perfumes, I like to keep the majority of them in boxes as they store easier that way. I like to store my make up in order of how I apply it, so the 1st drawer is face products, the 2nd drawer is eye/brow products & the 3rd drawer is lip products. I still need to get proper separators for all the products to make it look a bit tidier but for now, I'm pretty happy with it.

For all my mini products, I keep them in a glass jar as I can see what I have better & that way they get used more.

So that's how I store my make up & a little look at what products I have. If you have done a post like this, leave the links in the comments below - I would love to have a look.

Real Techniques Core Collection

Monday, 17 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
After reading a million & one reviews about the Core Collection, I had to get my hands on it. I have been using it for quite some time now, so I thought I'd finally share my thoughts with you.

The Core Collection contains 4 synthetic brushes. They come with a black panoramic case that you can store your brushes in when your traveling. All the Real Technique Brushes are colour coordinated so you know what they are for - In this case, the brushes from the starter set are gold.
Detailer Brush
I use this to blend eyeshadow primer, I find it does a better job than my finger. It is quite slim & has lots of densely packed bristles so it holds shape well.
Pointed Foundation Brush
I use this to blend concealer, liquid highlighter etc. It feels a lot harder then the other brushes..as it is doesn't have as much give so it's perfect for blending products into the harder to reach areas.
Contour Brush
I use this to contour my nose, cheekbones & jawline. It is slightly domed & very fluffy so as I'm applying the product, it is also blending it out.
Buffing Brush
I use this to buff my foundation into my skin. It is quite large & fluffy so it doesn't take long to achieve a flawless base. I also find that I use less foundation when I use this - it doesn't seem to suck up foundation like a few of my other brushes do.
All in all, this set is amazing! Like all Real Techniques brushes, they can be used for a whole number of things. The quality is also incredible, they are super soft & quite affordable. Definiety worth a try.

How I Contour

Saturday, 15 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
I have been contouring my face for a while now & I really couldn't imagine it not being a part of my daily routine. Even if I am just applying some mascara & doing my brows, I have to contour. It adds a lot more definition to my face without it looking unnatural.
I change the brush I use often but I think I have finally found the perfect one. I use the Real Techniques Contour Brush which is from the Core Collection. It is so soft & fits into the hollows of my cheeks perfectly, I also use it to define my nose & jaw. It does an amazing job of applying the blush while blending it to make sure it looks as natural as possible.

The product I use to contour is the Nyx Blush - Taupe. It is the perfect shade for my pale skin. When applied the blush looks more like a shadow, it is easy to apply & blends well.

I swirl the brush into the blush, tap of any excess, suck in my cheeks & apply. I try not to go to far down as I want it to look natural.
So that is my very easy contour routine. What products do you use to contour?

Bedside Beauty

Friday, 14 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
I have not so recently got a bedside table, I have been keeping a few items in there I occasionally can't be bothered forget to do when it's time for my beauty sleep.

I keep a few essentials in the top drawer, in this very old Quality Street tin that belonged to my Bampi. I really like how it looks & it doesn't take up much space.

The Body Shop Hand & Nail Cream.
I get very dry hands so it's always nice to keep something that gives them plenty of moisture without leaving them feeling greasy.

The Body Shop Chocomania Lip Butter
I like to apply a lip balm/butter before bed, as my lips get quite dry during the night. This has a lovely scent & sinks in quickly while giving my lips plenty of moisture.

Nip & Fab Cherry Tarte Body Butter
Once I'm in bed, I really don't want to get out so if I have forgot to moisturise my body.. I will usually leave it until the morning. This body butter sinks in quickly, has a lovely scent & keeps my skin feeling soft all night.

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Day & Night Cream
I very rarely forget to moisturise my face but if I do I like to have something to apply that sinks in quickly, doesn't leave any residue & gives my skin enough hydration. I also keep the day cream in there as I'm trying to use it up before I re purchase the Garnier Moisture Match.

So that's everything I keep in my bedside table. What do you keep in yours?

Wishlist #19 - The Rimmel Edit

Thursday, 13 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
This week I have found myself lusting after a few Rimmel products. I already own the Wake Me Up & Lasting Finish foundations but they have brought them out in a lighter shade which I think would look better on my skin. I have been after the Kate lipstick in 107 for quite a while & I have heard some amazing things about the other products so I obviously need them (; haha

Clinique Superprimer Face Primer - Dullness

Wednesday, 12 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
I have noticed my skin looks a bit dull lately so I wanted to find something to combat that. I purchased the Clinique Superprimer Face Primer - Dullness from a blog sale for a bargain price. I have been using it for a while & thought I'd share my thoughts with you.

Clinique have brought out 6 superprimers to combat a range of complexion issues & help to bring us a step closer to the appearance of flawless skin.

The primer comes packged in a light pink squeezy tube, the brand name & lid is silver & the writing is white. The lid feels very secure & it is quite slim so it is a great product for traveling.
This is a customised primer that helps to prep & correct your skin before foundation/concealer application. When applied it feels very velvety which is normally associated with silicone based primers but it has quite a creamy mousse like texture which makes it feel very light on the skin. The primer for dull skin is a light pink, when applied & blended it becomes clear. It leaves a semi matte almost powdery feel to my skin, it blurs pores/fine lines, brightens my skin & leaves it feeling smooth & soft. As the primer has a mousse like texture, you only need a pea sized amount to cover your entire face. I find my make up applies better & lasts perfectly throughout the whole day.

I am incredibly impressed with the Clinique Superprimer Face Primer for Dull Skin. It really does add a radiant glow & makes my skin feel & look incredible. I have my eye on the primer for redness, so hopfully I will adore that one just as much.

The Clinique Superprimer Face Primer retails at £20 for 30ml.

What products do you use to combat dull skin?

Illamasqua Cream Blush - Seduce

Tuesday, 11 February 2014

Hey Dolls.
While Illamasqua were having their sale I picked up this beautiful cream blush for only £7.50. Bargain! I have had this for a few days now & I have been obsessed with it. So I thought I should share my thoughts with you.

Seduce is a beautiful deep raspberry shade, it looks quite scary in the pan but if used lightly can give a beautiful rosy flush. The cream blush melts effortlessly into the skin, it leaves a dewy finish & the pigmentation is amazing! You can achieve a subtle flush or a bold sweep of colour with minimal effort. It lasts for around 9-10 hours on my skin but it wears beautifully, it still looks even & dewy after hours & it doesn't accentuate any dry areas.

All in all, I adore this blush. The quality is amazing & they have a ton of beautiful colours to suite every skin tone. It has definitely become a firm favourite & I will definitely be trying out more shades.
