Nyx Blush - Mocha

Monday, 30 September 2013

Hey Dolls.
When I did a swap with Dani from Tales Of Beauty Past, one of things I asked for was a Nyx blush, I didn't specify a shade so I was really excited when I received it in the shade Mocha. The name is a little misleading, when I think of Mocha I see a coffee shade but this blush is a deep mauve.

'Our pressed powder blush delivers sheer, silky colour that glides on, blends beautifully and creates a natural glow. The formula is richly-pigmented and lasts for hours'

The blush is packaged in a sleek black plastic case with a clear lid, it feels very sturdy & is a great size for storage & travel. The blush has a quilted design, it is such a simple but lovely feature.
Mocha is a matte deep mauve shade, it has a soft finely milled texture & has incredible pigmentation. If you have a fair skintone, you may have to be light handed with the blush but for ladies with a deeper skintone, this could be the perfect everyday blush for you. The blush is easy to blend & lasts on the skin for about 6 - 7 hours but leaves a subtle hint of colour until taken off.

Overall, I am incredibly impressed with this blush & will definitely be picking up more shades. Nyx blushes retail for £6 on the Nyx UK website but you can also find them on ebay & amazon.

Are you a fan of Nyx? What products would you recommend?

Sleek Blush By 3 - Lace

Sunday, 29 September 2013

Hey dolls.
I have wanted the Sleek Blush By 3 in Lace for so long & now I finally have it. I think today's post is going to be more of a first impressions review as I have only used all of the shades once but I absolutely adore it.

"The ultimate blush palette with 3 complementary shades in one mirrored compact."

Sleek Blush By 3 is a blush palette containing 3 shades, unless you have been living under a rock then you will have already seen plenty of reviews about this bad boy. It comes in five different colour choices - Lace, Flame, Pumpkin, Brown Sugar & Pink Spirit. I chose lace because the shades look less scary & I think they would suite my skin tone more than deep/vibrant purples haha. Now even though this is the lightest of the shades, they are still pretty damn bright, don't get me wrong I adore coral & orange shades but if you are a little heavy handed sometimes only apply a tiny bit each time as they are incredibly pigmented.

I adore the packaging, it comes in a sleek matte black compact with a built in mirror. I love the simplicity of it, the palette is very sturdy & the material feels expensive.

Crochet is a matte peachy/orange shade

Guipure is a peachy pink shade with lots of gold shimmer.

is a matte red/coral shade

The shades come in a finely milled almost velvet texture, they are incredibly pigmented & are easy to apply/blend. The staying power is incredible, you only need the smallest amount on the brush to get a lovely flush of colour. Even though these are bright summery shades, I really think they would look incredible all year round, they add a lovely flush of colour & Guipure can be used a subtle hightlight to brighten up the face.

All in all, I am really impressed with this blush palette & I would love to pick up Pumpkin in the future as the colours look stunning.

L'Oreal Perfect Slim Super Liner

Saturday, 28 September 2013

Hey Dolls.
I have really gotten into eyeliner again & even though I still adore my Collection felt tip liner, I thought it was about time I tried something new. So a not so recent purchase on the Superdrug website I spotted the L'Oreal Perfect Slim Super Liner, I have used it quite a few times now so I thought it was about time I shared my thoughts with you.

'In one steady stroke, Perfect Slim enhances the shape of the eye with it's 0.4mm tip. Providing stylish and intense sweeping line, this accurate liner give optimum control thanks to its grip zone hold.'

I adore the packaging, the black pen with the gold detailing makes it look sleek & expensive. The pen feels like good quality material & they have added a matte grip to the top of the pen so it is much easier to hold & control how you apply the liner.

The L'Oreal Super Liner is incredibly pigmented, it is a darker than dark true black, it dries within seconds, doesn't fade & stays put all day even on my slightly oily lids. As the nib has a thick base but gets thinner as it comes to the tip, I find it amazingly easy to get the perfect thin line without it being uneven or having to touch up any areas. The nib has just the right amount of flex in it - not so hard that it hurts to apply, not so soft that it will fall apart and splay.

I am incredibly impressed with the super liner, it is highly pigmented, has great staying power & stays put all day. It retails for £6.99 but Superdrug usually always have a 3for2 or buy 1 get 2nd half price offers on.

Have you tried this eyeliner? What are your thoughts?

Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara

Friday, 27 September 2013

Hey Dolls.
I have been quite obsessed with mascaras lately & generally want to buy them all. In a haul post I did not so long ago, I mentioned that I picked up the Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara. I think I've used it enough to share my thoughts with you.

'Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara plumps lashes up to 200% instantly for intense volume. Our uniquely tapered brush grabs every lash, individually, and coats it to plump perfection.
Contains a lash enhancing complex that conditions your lashes day after day.'
The first thing I would like to mention is that the wand is massive, it's quite thick & really long. I personally found it much easier to apply my mascara as the want grabbed every lash but this may not be to everyone's taste. The formula is a little wet at first but after a couple of days it does thicken up & is then a little easier to work with, I am quite happy with the wet formula but I know some people aren't a fan but as it thickens up a tad, it is still definitely worth giving it a try. The mascara separated my lashes & made them  much longer & thicker - not to mention that the mascara is the blackest black you could possibly ever have.

All in all, I am so impressed with this mascara that I've already made a list of other Revlon mascara's I would like to try out but if you have any recommendations please do let me know in the comments (:

W7 Nail Polish - Red Dazzle

Thursday, 26 September 2013

As we are getting closer to christmas, I have been obsessed with this nail polish. I have been using it for some nail art looks & just to brighten up my nails. It just screams christmas to me, it is a bright red nail polish with lots of red glitter particles. It is quite thick so you only need one coat but it dries insanely fast & lasts for a week or two without chipping. Say what?! It is such a pretty polish, the quality is incredible & it is a bargain at £1.85.

Amie Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash

Wednesday, 25 September 2013

Hey Dolls.
I thought I would review the Amie Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash today as I have been obsessed with it for the past few days & I wanted to take the photos before I used it all up.

This cleanser smells incredible! It has orange blossom, mayblossom, elderflower & raspberry & it just smells so good! This cleanser is really thick & creamy & feels lovely when being massaged into the skin. I like to apply a generous amount to my face even though you only need a tiny amount, I just love it so much that I could stand in the bathroom all day using this. I like an all in one cleanser, that takes of all my make up including the eye makeup but is gentle & this is it! I prefer to use this on dry skin as I feel it works a little better, I like to apply this in circular motions & then remove with a warm damp face cloth, it removes all my make up but doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or tight. It is such a lovely cleanser & I will definitely be re purchasing it when this one runs out.

Amie retails at £4.95 & is animal friendly, suitable for Vegans
& Vegetarians & has no Parabens, Mineral Oils, Sulphates, GM Ingredients or Petrochemicals.

Have you tried the purifying facial wash?

Topshop Pencil Eyeliner - Coal

Tuesday, 24 September 2013

Hey Dolls.
As you probably know, I recently did a beauty swap with Dani & I am slowly testing out the things she sent me. I adore pencil eyeliner, I use it on my waterline, tight line & occasionally use it to line my lashes for a smokey smudged effect. She sent me the Topshop Kohl in Coal, I've never tried anything from Topshop so I was really excited to give this a go.

'Deep, intense colour in a gliding and soft pencil to give easy and precise application. Velvety finish and deep colour with just one stroke of this soft kohl pencil.'

The packaging is amazing, it is an off white with black polka dots. I'm so simple but is by far the prettiest design on a eyeliner by far.

The eyeliner itself is really creamy & soft, you can be really gentle on your waterline/tight line & still get an amazing pigmented finish. As they are really creamy, they are so easy to smudge for an undone look. The pigmentation is amazing, It's darker than dark..a true black. The thing that stood out the most was the fact that it stays on all day, where I applied it. No panda eyes over here!

All in all I am really impressed with this eyeliner & will definitely purchase it again.

Top Five Beauty Products Under £5

Monday, 23 September 2013

Hey Dolls.
I adore finding an amazing product at a bargain price so I thought I would show you what my top five products under £5 are. I could have picked lots more products but thought I would keep it short & sweet.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19
I adore this concealer, it is one of the very few products that I can definitely say is worth the hype. It is a thick & creamy concealer but it blends effortlessly & doesn't crease under the eyes. It covers my blemishes/dark circles with the tiniest amount of product.

Mua Blushers £1
Mua is a very affordable brand but unlike some cheaper brands the quality is incredible. The blushes are highly pigmented, blend like a dream & doesn't budge all day.

Barry M Nail Polishes £2.99 - £3.99
Barry M are an amazing, affordable & high quality brand. I've decided to include the normal polishes & the gelly hi-shines in this post because well they are incredible. All the Barry M polishes I own are opaque in 2-3 coats, last about a week without chipping & have a gorgeous shine. They have so many colours & textures to choose from, from pastels to darks & glitters to grainy matte formulas.

This is one of the best mascaras's I have ever owned. I have fair, non existent lashes so I usually have to use two mascara's. I find even if I'm using a mascara that both curls & lengthens, I could always do with a bit more. This mascara has a huge wand, it grabs each & every lash & adds lots of volume. It is also blacker than black, its such an amazing mascara & really shows you don't need to break the bank to find a decent mascara.

I adore a slick of eyeliner but I am so clumsy that if I use a regular liquid eyeliner, I'm going to poke myself in the eye or get it everywhere other than where I want it to be. So when I first picked this up I was a little scared but it is so easy to get a thin defined line or even create a sexy cat eye with this felt tip eyeliner. I no longer poke myself in the eye or get it on the bridge of my nose etc.
It is incredibly pigmented & lasts all day even with my oily lids, I am so impressed with this eyeliner that I always go back to it, I have not found a better one, yet.

So that is my top five beauty products under £5, I hope you enjoyed this post & do let me know if you would like one maybe top five under £10 etc. I love these kinds of posts because it really shows that you don't need to break the bank to get decent make up.

What are your top five under £5?

Revlon Photoready Cream Blush - Coral Reef

Sunday, 22 September 2013

Hey Dolls.
I not so recently purchased the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef & I must admit, I have only just tried this. Since I bought it, I just left it in my drawer & found that I was reaching for other blushes instead. So as I didn't want to make you guys wait any longer. I put this in my make up bag to make sure I used it, It's been a few days so I thought I'd share my thoughts.

Coral Reef is a gorgeous shade, it's a blend of orange & red tones & will be perfect for Summer as it's lightweight. When applied to the skin the texture feels really soft, silky & blends really easily, it is quite a thin consistency but it is highly pigmented so even when blended out it still adds a flush of colour. That said, I am really pale so on deeper skin tones you may have to layer it a few times to get the desired colour. The cream blush dries in a semi matte finish, with no hint of shimmer or glitter to be seen. I apply this by using my finger to put a tiny amount onto my cheek & then using my stipple brush to blend it. I find that by  using this method, I use the right amount of product & can easily build it up if I want a more intense finish.

I adore this blush & will possibly be getting the other shades.

Are you a fan of cream blush? Which shade from Revlon is your favourite?

Smashbox It's Your Prime Set

Saturday, 21 September 2013

Hey Dolls.
I not so recently purchased the Smashbox It's Your Prime Set from Boots & I have been using it nearly everyday that I've actually made an effort with my make up,  concealer, mascara & filled in brows have been my thing lately. I think I've had enough testing time & would like to share my thoughts with you.

Photo Finish Foundation Primer
This is an oil-free, silicone based gel that glides over the skin like silk, leaving a soft matte finish which disguises pores & makes your foundation apply flawlessly. I really enjoy using this on warm days as it helps my foundation last longer & stay shine free all day.

Photo Finish Lid Primer
This is a tinted lid primer, it has an incredibly thin texture that gives a smooth, flawless base for eyeshadow. It applies smoothly & blends well with no dragging of the eyelid. It works well with all eyeshadow types, even crease prone cream formulas.

Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer
This is a creamy primer that makes your under eye area look flawless, helps reduce signs of cakeyness, the highlighting of fine lines & helps brighten dark circles. I also find that my eyes look a lot more awake & have a little sparkle when I use this.

All in all this is an amazing kit, it retails at £14 in Boots & is worth every penny. As these three products would cost around £61 if you bought them full size, it is a great opportunity to try them to see if you like them at a cheaper price.

Have you tried this set? What did you think?

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Enchanted

Friday, 20 September 2013

Hey Dolls.
You may have seen in one of my recent haul posts, that my lovely boyfriend got me the Taylor Swift Wonderstuck Enchanted perfume for our anniversary. I adore Taylor Swift & I am a huge fan of her first perfume Wonderstuck. I have used this perfume quite a bit, so I thought I would share my thoughts with you.

'An Oriental Gourmand, Enchanted introduces a new dimension to the Wonderstruck portfolio, with an irresistible blend of luscious wild berries and sugar-glazed petals, wrapped in a touch of sensuality for a captivating signature. Enchanted has an addictive balance of creamy flowers and sensual woods which blend harmoniously and add an alluring quality to the fragrance.'
Top notes
Wild Berries, Passion Fruit, Pink Poppy

 Heart notes
Peony, Sugar-Glazed Champaca Petals, White Freesia

Base notes
White Musk, Vanilla, Blond Woods

The packaging is stunning, from the red holographic glitter bottle, gold patterned lid, the gold writing to the adorable little charms that Taylor personally chose to represent her style.
Wonderstruck Enchanted is like the sexy older sister, still feminine & floral but a little muskier. The scent itself is very lightweight which means its perfect for everyday wear without being to overpowering. The lasting power is amazing, even at the end of the day you can still smell subtle hints of perfume on your clothing/wrists. It is a perfect day to night perfume as it is still feminine but has an edge with blends of white musk to give you a sexy, confident feel.
All in all this is an amazing perfume, perfect for women who want a sexier feel instead of the more girly one that comes with Wonderstuck.
I will be reviewing Wonderstuck soon, as I feel a little more confident reviewing perfumes.
Are you a fan of Wonderstuck Enchanted? What did you think?

Charity Shop Finds #2

Hey Dolls.
I adore Charity Shops for so many reasons, I love that the money that I spend goes to a good cause & I could find items that may have been discontinued or for a much cheaper price. I have picked up a few items lately so I thought I would share them with you.

No7 make up bag
I wanted a more sophisticated make up bag as I usually use a Hello Kitty one from H&M. My mum actually picked this one up for me as I was constantly mentioning that I wanted needed a new one. It is a black faux leather bag with gold detailing around the edges & No7 logo on the front. It is quite spacious but unlike my Hello Kitty bag I can only fit in the things I need & not all the things I need plus 10+ more. As my mum got this for me I'm not sure how much it was but doubt it was more than £2.99.

Yankee Candle - Strawberry
I adore Yankee Candles so when I saw this for 99p I couldn't say no. Strawberries are one of my favourite fruits so naturally I adore anything & everything that smells like them. Yankee Candle is an amazing brand, the candles are good quality & all the scents smell gorgeous.

Lilac & silver plant pot
I must admit when I bought this I had no idea what I was going to use it for but it was so pretty that I had to take it home. It is a lilac plant pot with silver flake like detailing, I've decided to use it for my hair brushes as I usually put them in with all my hair tools in my spongebob bin but found that I lost them quite easily. My brushes fit perfectly & I still have space in the pot, I find it easier to get the specific brush I want to use & it was a complete bargain at only £1.20

New Look Black Flats
I adore flats but I don't own a plain black pair so when I saw these, I had to have them. They are in perfect condition & have a lovely bow detail on the top. They are so comfy & they were around £1.99 which was a complete bargain.

Remington Straighteners
I used to have a pair of these straighteners & I adored them, I have really thick long hair so I found the bigger size made straightening my hair a breeze but after having them for a few years they sadly broke, I couldn't find them anywhere after that so I settled for a smaller pair but while I was browsing through one of my local charity shops I spotted them in the electronics bin for only £1.99. They are in perfect condition & come with the heat proof case. I'm so glad I've got them for when I do occasionally straighten my hair.
So that's everything I have recently picked up recently. I hope you enjoyed this, let me know if you would like to see more posts like this on my blog ツ

VO5 Refresh Me Quick Dry Shampoo

Thursday, 19 September 2013

'Revive dull, lifeless hair with this dry shampoo. Its formula with extracts of white tea leaves your hair looking and feeling clean and fresh.'
This is my holy grail dry shampoo, I am never without a can of it lurking around my room somewhere. The first thing I noticed about this dry shampoo ia that it has a gorgeous fruity scent that isn't overpowering what so ever. It is great for reviving second or third day hair but it also adds volume & texture to the hair. Unlink some dry shampoo's it doesn't leave white marks in the hair if you spray to much or leave a powdery feeling. I adore this dry shampoo & couldn't fault it at all.

What is your holy grail dry shampoo?
