Hey Dolls.
I have recently been contacted by a lovely woman called Michelle, who works in a spa called Skana in Upstate New York, so if you live in that area - definitely check it out. She asked if I would be interested in sharing her tips on how to make easy, affordable products to help protect your skin from the sun.

Get a Beautiful Summer Complexion with This DIY Hydration Mask.

Getting perfect summer skin is easier than you may think. It's essential to keep your skin in its best condition when the weather is warm, since the sun can be very harsh on your complexion, whether your skin is naturally dry or oily.

The experts from Skana spa of the New York resort Turning Stone have shared with us this recipe for a hydration mask made from ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen.

What You Need

1 cup of natural or organic yogurt
½ a cup of oatmeal
1 tablespoon of honey

Stir the ingredients together in a bowl. Spread it on your skin, and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash the mask off with a warm washcloth. You may have to wet the washcloth and wipe it over your face a few times to make sure all of the mask is removed from your skin.

This mask is perfect for rejuvenating your skin after you've spent a day on the beach. The ingredients restore your complexion: yogurt evens your skin tones and reduces redness, oatmeal exfoliates the skin to slough off dead skin cells, and honey gets rid of blemishes. Honey is also a natural antibacterial agent, and can get rid of acne like blackheads and whiteheads

Since oatmeal has saponins, which works like soap, it's effective for getting dirt or oil off your face gently after you've been in the sun for hours. If you have skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema that flare up during the summer, applying a mask that contains oatmeal can soothe your skin and take away the itching & irritation.

The hydrating summer mask is free of all harsh chemicals and fillers, so you won't have to worry about having an allergic reaction. Since all the ingredients are natural, you'll be using a mask that is paraben-free, so you won't be disrupting your natural hormone balance.

Once you make your mask, store it in a glass or plastic container and put it in the refrigerator to keep all the ingredients fresh. Apply the mask two or three times a week to see significant improvement in your complexion.

This mask sounds so amazing, I will definitely be giving it a go.
