What I've Bought #5

Tuesday, 30 July 2013

Hey Dolls.
I have purchased a few nail polishes in the last couple of weeks, I have really enjoyed trying out different nail art looks & having bright or textured nails.

First of all, how amazing this the lid! Who doesn't love a bit of aztec. This is a gorgeous neon pea green shade, it needs three coats to be opaque & takes up to 10 minutes to dry but it is so gorgeous I really don't mind those two facts.

Every blogger & their mum owns this polish, I have seen so many great reviews I just couldn't resist picking it up. This is a lovely milky taupe colour, it dries within 5 minutes, only needs one coat & lasts for about a week without chipping.

I went out of my comfort zone with this one as yellow nail polish doesn't usually look great on me but I adore this one. This polish is a neon yellow, it only needs two coats to be opaque,  dried within 5 minutes, leaves a lovely glossy finish & has lasted for a good four days without chipping.

Another polish that usually doesn't look great on me is orange but I adore this shade. This polish is a neon orange, it is opaque in one coat, leaves a gorgeous glossy finish & lasts four - five days without chipping.

This is a gorgeous milky pinky nude, the brush is larger than most so you can cover the nail in one application, it leaves a gorgeous glossy finish but looks amazing matte to & it only needs one coat & it lasts for a week without chipping.

My favourite nail related purchase this month! I adore matte nails & could buy every colour but when I spotted this, I was excited to say the least. It transforms any nail polish into a gorgeous matte look with a velvet finish, you only need one thin coat & the brush is quite wide so you can cover your nail in only one application.

Invogue Feather Effect Nail Polish - Sunset
The last nail polish I have to show you is a textured one which I have been a little obsessed with. This polish is a clear based nail polish, filled with tiny peach & white feather like particles, it only needs to coats for the nail to be completely covered, it dries insanely fast & it lasts on the nail for three - four days which I think it pretty good for a textured polish.

So that is everything I have to show you, have you bought any nail polishes recently?

Wishlist #9 - The Ebay Edit

 Hey Dolls.
I adore Ebay & have lots of lists/bookmarked pages of goodies I want. So I thought I'd share some of my recent must haves with you (:

Whats on your list of must haves?

Real Techniques Brushes

Sunday, 28 July 2013

Hey dolls.
I adore the Real Techniques Stipple Brush & I have heard so many great things about all the other brushes so I definitely couldn't wait any longer to add some more brushes to my collection. I ordered the Blush brush, Powder brush & the Expert Face brush & have used them for about a week or so now so I thought it was time to let you know what my thoughts are.

Real Techniques brush line was created by the lovely Samantha Chapman who is one half of the well known sister duo 'Pixiwoo', both very experienced, successful make-up artists. As a pair the sisters have had major internet success through YouTube where they have millions of subscribers to their online make-up tutorials, me being one of them. As working make-up artists, Sam created this line of brushes to combine high-tech materials with innovative design to make creating a pixel-perfect look easier than ever but most importantly keeping them affordable. The brushes are all made from taklon bristles, they are ultra plush & smoother than the hair you'll find in other brushes. Since taklon is synthetic, it's 100% cruelty-free. The soft fibers help create a flawless, high-definition finish in any type of light, from sunlight to harsh indoor lighting. The collection is suitable for a wide range of products and every make-up need from powders, creams, and liquids to mineral make-up, highlighter, and shimmer.

Blush Brush | I use this brush for two things, blush & bronzer. It is the perfect size to apply the right amount of product to contour & define my cheeks.

Powder Brush | I love applying powder with this brush, It picks up the right amount of product to set your make up & it is great to buff into the skin for a flawless, even finish.

Expert Face Brush | I adore applying foundation/concealer with this brush, it makes buffing/blending effortless & creates a streak free, natural, even finish to the skin.

All Real Techniques brushes are incredibly soft, wash well & once dried, keep their shape. I have had no shedding from any of the brushes & most importantly, they are animal cruelty free.

I definitely, wholeheartedly recommend the real techniques brushes. All the ones I have tried, are beyond amazing.

Do you own any of the Real Techniques Brushes? What brush is you favourite? I would love to know what brushes you love & what you use them for, so leave a comment down below or if you have a review of the brushes, link it to me in the comments.

Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser - Dry Skin

Saturday, 27 July 2013

 Hey Dolls.
I hate moisturing my body with a hardcore passion so when I found out that Nivea have brought out a product that makes moisturising less of a chore, it needed to be in my life. So without further ado.. Introducing Nivea’s In-Shower Body Moisturiser.

'Discover the new and convenient way to moisturise with the first In-Shower Body Moisturiser from Nivea. The skin conditioning formula is applied straight after cleansing in the shower and instantly rinsed off to reveal soft and silky feeling skin. No need to wait, the formula is instantly absorbed into wet skin so you can just get dressed and go!'

But the big question is, does it actually work? In short, the answer is yes. The formula is very thick & creamy, it smooths over the skin with ease & when it comes in contact with water it glides off without leaving a greasy residue on the skin. My skin feels soft, nourished & hydrated but after a while my dry skin is on its war path & my skin feels like it hasn't been moisterised at all. I am quite disappointed with this product, even though it is a brilliant idea - it just doesn't feel as lovely or last as long as a body butter would.

Have you tried the In Shower Moisturiser by Nivea? What are your thoughts?

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar

Friday, 26 July 2013

Hey dolls.
I am seriously loving Korean Beauty Products lately. The packaging is incredible & the quality is amazing. I have read so many great reviews about Korean/Japanese products & until I found some brands on Ebay I wasn't sure how I would be able to get my hands on them. The item I was most excited to try is the Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar, I ended up ordering 05 Juicy Peach & it has quickly become first place on my favourite lip products list.

I adore bunnies & when I first saw this I may have squealed with delight, I very much doubt any lip product could get cuter than this.
I must admit, I did buy this purely for the packaging but when I tried it for the first time, I couldn't believe how amazing the quality is. The formula is very moisturising & glides onto the lips beautifully. Juicy Peach is a lovely peachy pink shade - it looks very natural on the lips, giving a delicate wash of colour. They are very easy to use on the go & are super hydrating. Most importantly, they leave my lips feeling smooth & add a subtle glossy finish. They last for about 2-3 hours, like an average lip balm. I can honestly say I'm pretty happy with that.

What Korean brands do you love? Have you tried this gloss bar? What are your thought?

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

Wednesday, 24 July 2013

Hey dolls.
I have finally jumped on the bandwagon & purchased the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I very rarely use concealer but recently I've had a few blemishes my foundation wasn't covering so I thought I'd see if this concealer lives up to the hype.

'Ultimate wear concealer which conceals flaws, imperfections and blemishes for up to 16 hours. It is transfer proof and water resistant for full and long lasting coverage, and provides beautiful, shine-free, blemish-free skin.'
The concealer is packaged in a clear basic tube, it makes it easier to see if you have the right shade for your skintone, I do find that the writing on the concealer rubs of really easily through daily wear & tear. It has a twist off lid which contains a doe foot applicator, I find it to be the perfect size to apply the concealer to hard to reach areas [sides of the nose, under the eyes etc ] & it collects the right amount of product for one application. The consistency of the concealer is quite thick but really creamy which makes it incredibly easy to blend. It does an amazing job of concealing dark circles & hiding any red patches, spots & other blemishes. I can't say whether it lasts for 16 hours as I have not worn it for that long but it does last really well on the skin all day & I may only have to touch up once during the evening depending on if my blemishes are really bad that day. It is the best long wearing concealer I have ever tried & I can definitely say that it is worth the hype.

It comes in 4 shades to suit a variety of skin colours. I chose the Fair shade for my skin as I am super pale. It retails at £4.19 which I think is very reasonable considering how amazing the quality is.

Have you tried the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer? What are your thoughts? What is your holy grail concealer?

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty

Tuesday, 23 July 2013

Hey Dolls.
I quite like to do tags so when I spotted this one floating around I thought it would be a fun tag to do :)

1. GREED:
What is your most inexpensive beauty item?
The most inexpensive beauty item is the Maybelline Mono Eyeshadow I got of Fragrance Direct for 75p.

What is your most expensive?
I don't spend a lot on make up products so I think my most expensive is probably the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer which is around £10.

2. WRATH:

What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation, its just one of those products that make your skin look flawless one day but then a couple of weeks later it looks horrid. It is an amazing foundation but it doesn't always give me the same result.

What product has been the hardest to get?
EOS lip balms! I have wanted to try one for so long but I can't really justify spending £5.99 or more on a lip balm especially since I have read quite a few reviews saying it does nothing for the lips etc but I was on a blog sale kick & I found someone selling a EOS Lipbalm in Lemon Drop for £3 that has never been used so I figured that I probably won't find that deal again.

What are your most delicious beauty products?
Bourjois Bronzing Powder, it has an amazing chocolate scent & Palmer's Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Lip Butter which smells & tastes like After Eights. Yum!

4. SLOTH:

What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
Lining my upper lash line with liquid eyeliner, I used to do it everyday but lately I really can't be bothered as it takes quite a bit of concentration as I'm quite clumsy.

5. PRIDE:

What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
Mascara, it is the only product that I have to apply everyday. My lashes are very fair & my eyes look a little on the small side when I haven't got mascara on.

6. LUST:

What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
I'm not really sure what this has to do with the rest of the tag but I like the attributes my boyfriend has: he’s handsome, thoughtful, funny & smart.

7. ENVY:

What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
Probably something from Mac or Benefit, I have wanted to try something from them for a while but as they are both quite pricey I can't really justify it.

Have you done this tag? Leave me the link in the comments so I can have a little read (:

What I've Bought #4

Monday, 22 July 2013

Hey Dolls.
I received my order from Kukee today, I broke a bracelet & lost a ring so I thought it would be a great time to re purchase the items or add something new to my collection. I was going to wait until I had a few more bits & pieces to show you before doing a haul but I just love the items so much I couldn't wait. (:

The Aztec Triangle Ring & The Studded Spike Friendship Bracelet are a re purchase, they are two of my most worn pieces & are such great quality. The Acrylic Druzy Ring is a new addition to my collection, it is so beautiful & a bargain at only £2.50.

Have you purchased anything from Kukee lately? What is your favourite jewelry piece?

Blog Sale Bargains #1

Sunday, 21 July 2013

Hey Dolls.
I love a good blog sale, especially when there is amazing bargains to be had.  I snapped up a few things from two lovely blog sales & I thought I would show you what I got. This post was supposed to go up about a week or so ago, so I'm not sure if the blog sales are still up. :/

The first things I got were the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation & Powder, I had heard so many good things about these & they are all true. I adore the foundation, an amazing colour match, blends like a dream & looks lovely & natural. The Powder gives a subtle bit of colour to the skin, doesn't stick to any dry areas & keeps the shine at bay all day. I do have two issues thought, the foundation DOESN'T have a pump - I'm sure everyone knows why this is a issue so that's all I'll say about that & the mirror on the powder is evil. You know when you look amazing in every other mirror you own but then you have that one mirror that makes you look horrid? well the revlon mirror is that one mirror -.-

Next up is a nail polish by Maxfactor, I have heard quite a few good reviews about this but I was a bit hesitant as I have not had the best of luck with Maxfactor products. I was incredibly surprised how amazing this is, it looks so gorgeous on its own & over purple/black polish.

The next thing was a free item as the lady who I bought the Maxfactor polish from, took longer to send the item that she thought, even though I didn't mind she insisted in putting another polish in my package & this is the one I got. I have never tried anything from Sally Hansen before but as usual I have heard so many good things. It is a beautiful iridescent grape purple that flashes blue and pink. It is an incredible polish, the brush is huge - the perfect size for painting your nails in a hurry, it dries super quick & stays chip free for a week or so.

The last thing I got was an EOS lip balm, I have wanted to try one of these little gems for a long time but I couldn't justify paying £5.99 for a lip balm that has had quite a lot of mixed reviews & unfortunately I wasn't going to America anytime soon so when I spotted it for only £3 I really couldn't resist. I got it in Lemon Drop, I am huge lemon fan so I was quite excited about this. It is a pretty good lipbalm, softens the lips & keeps them hydrated all day & smells & tastes exactly like what its supposed to - Lemons! (:

So thats all of my recent blog sale bargains, I hope you enjoyed this post & if you would like a full review on any of these products do let me know in the comments.

Guest Post | Colours Of The Rainbow Tag

Saturday, 20 July 2013

Hello lovelies, so today myself and Ash have decided to do a guest blog post and we've both chosen to do the Colours of the Rainbow tag. If you scoot on over to my blog Ce Que J'aime then you will find Ash's colours of the rainbow tag. So hope you enjoy!

So my favourite product that is red, is a perfume from Taylor Swift, it's the Wonderstruck Enchanted perfume. Unfortunately I'm not going to try to describe the scent as I am awful, but it's a lovely fruity fresh smell, its a strong smell but it so refreshing. It isn't a smell that fades also, if you haven't yet smelt this, well, why not?! Go to your local Boots or Superdrug and get sniffing!

This was such an easy choice, the Real Techniques Core Collection is amazing. I use these brushes every day and will be purchasing the other brushes in the future, you can check out my full review on these brushes instead of my rambling on again. (http://lisa-cequejaime.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/23-real-techniques-brushes-core.html)-link. Basically these  brushes come in a set of four for about £19.99, which is such an amazing price, that works out at about £5 a brush.

This was again a really easy choice, the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara in black, what I love about this is that it has a plastic small wand, I cannot use a mascara with fibre bristles that are nearly the same size as your eye. This mascara is amazing, it gives great volume, makes your lashes so black and defined and lengthens amazingly, but without making your lashes look spidery. I cannot rave about this mascara enough.

I could not choose just one product for this colour, so I had to choose three. Oopsie. So my first product is the new Garnier Moisture Match for combination to oily skin. I love this moisturiser, usually I'm not really a skincare person, but recently I am obsessed, and this moisturiser definitely hits the spot, and I love that there are may different ones for different skin types.

Also I am obsessed with green nail polishes recently, my favourite being Essie's Mojito Madness which I recently purchased from a blog sale. Also I love Collections 59-look at me, nail polish, which is a gorgeous lime green!

For blue I chose Nivea's Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover, I have fallen in love with this product, I have such sensitive eyes and this is great, I get no irritation, redness and my eyes don't water like they do with most other eye makeup removers. If you have sensitive eyes I would definitely give this a go!

Unfortunately I don't actually have anything in this category that I'm liking, I would rather be honest and say I don't have anything than find something for the sake of it just so I can fill a space.

For this category I decided on choosing the Gilette Venus Breeze razor, this is obviously the purple one, I do have the pink verison of this also and I love them so much. They are so moisturising, I have such sensitive skin and shaving my legs can be pretty difficult, but around the razor head of this are two little tiny soap bars, so it never feels dry or rough when shaving your legs, and your legs feel so smooth from using this when you get out the shower/bath!

I didn't have to think about this at all, Pro-Voke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo had to be in this! This is a silver shampoo, which is actually violet, a very bright purple, quite scary really the first time you use it, I was actually worried that my hair may of turned purple when using this the first few times, but I can assure you it doesn't. Silver shampoo's take the brass tones out of blonde hair, there will be a full review of this product up on the blog soon so keep an eye out for that!

For this category I have two products, firstly Soap and Glory's Hand Food, I swear by this, I have a full sized bottle on my dresser and bed side table and a travel sized bottle in my hand bag. It's so moisturising and I always feel the need to put hand cream on all the time, and this is great, such an affordable product also.

Next I love the Bioderma H2o Michellaire Solution, which is basically a cleansing water to remove make-up, I don't use this to remove any eye makeup but at the end of the day I use this to remove all makeup from my face, I find it so refreshing, especially in this weather.

This is cheating slightly I think, but a product I love and it isn't a certain colour or scent, but has many different variations which made me want to place it here, is the Batiste Dry Shampoo. Ladies (or gents with long hair), if you have not tried dry shampoo, you have not lived. It is a life saver! Such a great way to give your hair some volume and keep it looking clean and healthy in-between washes. Batiste Dry Shampoo's are amazing, they have so many different scents or types, for different hair colours, the two I currently have are Cherry and Blush.
So I hope you enjoyed this post, if you have pop over to my blog and give it a follow, I'll always reply to comments and look at your blog!
