Lady Gaga - Fame

Thursday, 28 February 2013

Hey Dolls.
I was so excited when I found out that I was having Lady Gaga's perfume off my boyfriend for Christmas. I love Lady Gaga & the fact that the liquid is black made me want it so much more but don't worry the black liquid sprays clear and becomes invisible once airborne so there will be no staining.  [Which I was quite worried about before I did some research]
I tested it in Superdrug & fell in love with the scent. It is so unique & different from what I'd usually wear.

Amazing Advert!♥
Normally fragrances are composed using different scent notes which are separated into three classes top notes which you are able to detect straight away, middle notes which you notice after the initial scent has settled and base notes which come later.
Although Fame still has these separate notes they do not follow the usual pyramid form. The fragrance has a unique structure called the "push-pull technology," where the ingredients interact together to highlight different aspects of each note at the same time, without any hierarchy.

The scent is built around three main accords: dark, sensual and light.

The dark accord was inspired by poisonous flower Belladonna and incense. From this darkness, the fragrance evolves to a sensual accord of opulence, a fusion of dripping honey, saffron and apricot nectar and lastly, the light accord whispers magnificence. The rich floral layer of crushed Tiger Orchid and Jasmine embodies timeless beauty. Fame is a deep sensual fragrance which is probably more suited to evening wear but I love wearing it throughout the day. I love the glass oval bottle with the gold claw like lid. It looks absolutley amazing & the lid could double up as a fairly dangerous weapon as it is quite sharp espically if you stand on it [Ouch!] haha.
I find that the perfume lasts all night, I haven't had to re-apply it at all & it still smells as amazing as it did when I first sprayed it. I highly recommend trying out this perfume. It retails at £23.99 for 30ml, £29.99 for 50ml & £53.99 for 100ml from Superdrug.

Have you tried this? What do you think?

Tangle Teezer.

Wednesday, 27 February 2013

Hey Dolls.
So after seeing the Tangle Teezer raved about I gave in & decided to buy one for myself.
I got the sparkly purple one, as purple is my favourite colour and what girl doesn't like a bit of sparkle! :) They come in loads of different colours so you can pick what colour you love best.
I have really think & curly hair so getting knots out isn't the easiest thing to do.
I get the really tiny knots that only happen if you have played with your hair to much or taken a nap & you only find out when you have ran your fingers through your hair & find the little sh...thing.
The Tangle Teezer has become the only brush I use. I used to use a paddle brush because I was told that what would be best for my hair...they lied. The Tangle Teezer is incredible. It gets the knots out easily without any fuss, It even works amazingly on wet hair. I would usually have to wait until my hair was dry otherwise the brush would rip half my hair out -.-
It doesn't hurt one bit when you are brushing your hair and it takes literally seconds to get all the knots out.
The Tangle Teezer is definitely worth the hype! I've had mine for a good couple of months.
I bought mine for about £8 on Amazon & It is the best thing I've ever bought.
I defintely think everyone should have one of these, it will make doing you hair 10x better!

Have you tried the Tangle Teezer? Do you love it?!

Blast From The Past - MaxFactor Lipfinity Lasting Lip Tint.

Wednesday, 20 February 2013

Hey Dolls.
When I started my blog this was either the first or second blog post I did.
When I started again I deleted the post & decided to start a fresh.
So today I'm going to give it another review, I haven't used it since that blog but yesterday I hunted through my lip products draw & found it.
I will only give you my honest opinion because I bought this purely for the hype around it & I was so disappointed but hopefully my opinion has changed somewhat as it is such a pretty colour that's so easy to wear.

When I Applied It;

This morning after I applied my base & eye make up, I had a couple of things to do so I thought I'd see how it goes throughout the day. The application was okay, the tint comes in a marker pen type packaging with a thick felt tip applicator. It’s really comfortable in the hand and the tip is tapered so you can really define the lips and get into any tricky corners. It’s also really handy that the tip is so long so that you can use the length to fill in the lips, the application was a three-step process. The first application  was to define the shape of the lips and for the stain to settle on your skin, I found that the first application faded quite quickly & I started to get streaks & stains on my lips. A second application to build up colour & a third to clean up any less pigmented parts of your lips.
It is quite drying on the lips & faded alot after I ate or drank something. It doesn't smell very nice, its quite sweet & a bit overpowering.

A couple of hours later [ 3 to be exact ]
This is what it looked like when I came home.
I'm not very impressed with this product, it started to fade after an hour, it has made my lips incredibly dry, it looks darker in patches & for about £8 I wanted it to be one of my holy grail lip products, something I used all the time.
All in all I wouldn't recommend this product especially if you have dry lips.
I'm probably going to throw this away after I finish this blog post, which is quite sad.
I wanted to love it so much,  I've read so many good reviews and didn't bother to read any of the negative ones which is something I would normally do.

Whats your thoughts on this product? Does it work for you?

Elf Stipple Brush.

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

Hey Dolls
I used to avoid foundation brushes, I've tried a few brands & they have all left my foundation streaky & then I'll have to go over it with my fingers.
So I was quite hesitant to try this but I am extremely impressed with this brush, it applies my foundation nicely, no streaks & I'll only do a second layer with my fingers if I need extra coverage not because its streaky/patchy. You only need to use a tiny bit of foundation because this brush makes it go a long way.  It was very inexpensive, I think it was £3.75. It is such good quality and it is so soft even after I've used it everyday for a couple of months. It was white but it is slightly tinted from my foundation but after you wash it, it actually looks clean & I've noticed my basic foundation brush got badly stained so it always looked gross & dirty.
I never really see anyone rave about this, which is quite sad considering how amazing it is.
I definitely think you should check this out.

Donut Bun

Monday, 18 February 2013

Hey Dolls.
So I have been loving the "donut" bun look lately.
It's very quick & easy to do once you get the hang of it.
I failed the first time I tried it but I kept doing it until I finally got it right.
You can buy the donut bun from Boots.

To create the bun;

What you need;
A brush.
Bobbie pins.
Two bobbles.
The donut bun.
Hairspray. [Optional]

Step one.
Give your hair a good brush through.
Put your hair into a ponytail, as high or as low as you would like your bun to be.
You can smooth the hair out to have a sleeker bun or you have a few bits come loose to have a messy looking bun.

Step two.
Take your donut bun and slip it over your ponytail all the way down to your bobble.
Make sure all of your hair is securely in the donut bun.

Step three.
Slowly start to slide your bun up your ponytail until you get about 2inches from the end of your hair.

Step four.
Tuck the tip of you ponytail either side of the bun and start to roll down.
Dont worry if it looks quite messy you can fix that after you have finished rolling it down.
After you have finished rolling it down and made sure none of the donut is showing, wrap the second bobble around it to make it more secure.
Use the bobby pins to secure any loose bits you may have & spary it with a bit of hairspray for the finishing touch.

Side Swept Braids.

Friday, 8 February 2013

Hey Dolls.
So today I thought I would show you a hair look that I'm loving. I usually have my hair up or in a side parting but my fringe/bangs have grown out alot so Ive been rocking my centre parting and my natural curls/waves. I wanted to stop using so much heat on my hair because I straightened it everyday even though I used heat defence spray I just still felt like I was ruining my hair. So I've been looking for cute ways to vamp up the centre parting and I found this look. I'll tell you what products I use and then how I actually achieve the look. I use some dry shampoo to give my hair a little texture and volume, then I'll tease the roots until I'm happy with how it looks and I'll spray a little sea salt spray on the bottom of my hair, usually just up to my ear and scrunch it to give that beachy effect I usually hold the scrunch for about 30 - 60 seconds. So I've just took the shortest parts of my hair at the front, loosely braided them and pinned them to the side with a bobby pin. I like to have the braid a little past my ear. I'm really happy with it. Its super easy and quick especially if you're having a lazy day or you're just running errands or going to the beach and what not.

Let me know what you think ♥

What I've Bought #1

Thursday, 7 February 2013

Hey Dolls.
Superdrug has to be my favourite place to shop, so I ordered a few things and thought I would share them with you. :) I have linked all the products if you would like to check them out. :)

No1; Maybelline fit me foundation - 115 Ivory.
I received a sample of this so I thought I would buy the full size bottle and I absolutely love it. Its easy to apply, blends well, leaves my face looking flawless & matches my skin tone perfectly. Its a light coverage but it is buildable. I usually stay away from Maybelline foundations because I find them cakey and hard to apply. But they have really upped there game with this one.

I needed a new hand lotion and I wanted something that was fruity but not to strong. I've only used it once but it smells amazing and it left my hands super moisturised. Its not greasy and it dries instantly so you don't have to wait 5 minutes to do anything. I definitely recommend this if you need that extra bit of moisture during the winter.

I love the original foundation from MUA but it can be a bit shiny so I use alot more powder than I usually would with any other foundation but this one is incredible. I used it for the first time today and even without powder my face didn't look half as shiny as it usually does so I used a tiny bit of powder and I'm so impressed, it is now 8:02pm and it has lasted all day. My face still looks flawless as it did when I applied it.

No4; Hello Kitty Mascara - Black.
I am a huge lover of all things Hello Kitty, so when I saw this I had to get it. I love what this does to my lashes, I have very fair lashes so sometimes they look like they aren't there. This mascara gave them alot of volume and definition. I usually use 2 mascara's one for length and one for volume but with this I only needed the one it did the job perfectly. :)

No5; L'Oreal Colour Riche Nails - Luxembourg Garden 608.
I was very disappointed when I received this. On the photo it look like an amazing forest green but its more of a grey blue it looks nothing like the photo. The only good things I can say is it has a nice flat brush, it applies well, you only need 1 - 2 coats and it dries quickly. Its a nice colour but not what I was expecting.

No6; L'Oreal Colour Riche Nails - Scarlet Vamp 404.
The colour is amazing, I wanted a really dark red something to really vamp an outfit up. Like the other one this applies really well & has a nice flat brush I used 2 coats to get a really dark look, it dried really quickly which is always a plus. At the moment the L'oreal Colour Riche Nail Polishes are buy 1 get another half price at Superdrug.

No7; MUA eyebrow pencil - Blonde
I usually use the Maybelline eyebrow pencil in dark blonde and I can only ever find it on amazon in a set with tweezers and eyebrow stencils which costs about £8. So I saw this and I couldn't resist I love MUA products, it was only £1 and then I wouldn't have loads of tweezers and stencils either. I think its better than the Maybelline one it applies nicely, is slightly a bit darker than my natural eyebrows which is good because like my lashes, my eyebrows are very fair. It has a little brush on the end to shape your eyebrows and make sure the products isn't caked on. This is about my 4th one of these and its my holy grail eyebrow product along with the MUA brow kit which you should also check out. :)

This is my holy grail powder, I've tried a few others but I always go back to this. It sets my make up nicely, it lasts for ages and it never looks cakey no matter how much you put on. It helps my foundation last all day and as my skin can be super dry one day and the super oily the week after its a handy thing to have.

Nivea Lip Butterskin

Wednesday, 6 February 2013

Hey Dolls.
I was having a little browse on Superdrug's website and these amazing little thing's caught my eye.
The nivea lip butter's, There are 4 versions, Caramel cream, Original, Raspberry Rose & Vanilla Macadamia. The vanilla macadamia is only available in Boots.
I am Obsessed with Nivea lip products so instead of just buying the one to try out to see if i liked them, I got two. :)
I picked up Caramel cream and Raspberry Rose & i loved them from the very first sniff, they smell amazing and they actually work. I've bought alot of products that are tacky, sticky or greasy and literally don't do anything for your lips.
I suffer from sore, dry, cracked and occasionally peeling lips especially in the winter, as it gets absolutely freezing here in Wales. :(
I've had them for about a month now, I usually apply it before I go to sleep and when I wake up, It has made an amazing improvement in my lips, the best thing is you only need a tiny bit. You get a lot in the tin, which is great considering how affordable they are. They are currently £1.49 in Superdrug.  The caramel cream gives a subtle sheen to my lips and the Raspberry rose gives a very sheer pink hue. My lips look a lot more moist and supple. Even when it has completely gone my lips still feel very hydrated.
These have quickly become a holy grail lip product and have found a permanent place in my "out and about" make up bag.
I definitely recommend them to anyone who has dry/sensitive lips or anyone who loves a good lip product. (:
